RIP Daddy, the STRONGEST man I’ve ever known

my father & i have a bond that not even death can break. My dad would always tell me that to every gray cloud, they is a silver lining. He told me that even when things seemed impossible, God would make a way out of no way. Growing up my dad instilled in us to always have faith & to never let yourself get weak….to remain strong & fake it til you make it. I remember all the things my dad used to tell me in times of difficulty. He was preparing me for a time like this.

Besides God, my father was the one person I had faith in more than anyone else. He always made things happen even when they seemed to be extremely impossible. Watching him as he battled cancer confirmed what I already knew….that he was the strongest man I’ve ever known.

My family appreciates all of the feedback, support & prayers. I am very thankful for all of you who took the time to do that because you didnt have to. I do have one small request though. Please pray for my Mother. My parents were married over 30 years. She lost the more than I can even imagine. Please pray that God grants her strength & peace of mind.

Thank you.

Children’s OOTD: Colorblock Cutie

Anyone who knows my daughter [Aliana Dior, 3]  knows she is quite the handful. She’s funny, smart, polite and….stylish! My little diva loves fashion so much, at Christmas, she showed her gifts that were clothes more attention than she did her other toy gifts. Crazy for a child to even appreciate clothes for Christmas right? lol

So I thought what better way to let her get her mini-fashionista on than to style her in a look that features the hot new trend, Colorblocking. To achieve a stylish colorblocking look, you basically take random but complimentary colors & pair them together to create a bright & bold yet cohesive look. This trend is hot for Spring/Summer 2012 because its bright & fun…perfect for a preschooler.

What’s sexier than a bold lip color on Valentine’s Day?? Not too many things at all actually.  This look is seductive yet simple and was inspired by Adele signature look but I tweaked it and put my own spin on it to make it my own. And I must say that I am in love with matte lipstick!! Check out the photos below and you’ll find it hard not to agree.

Natural Remedies: Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is a problem that is common among black people & other people of color. It often occurs when an excess of melanin has been produced and forms deposits, causing skin patches that appear darker than the surrounding skin. Common cause of hyperpigmentation are: sun exposure, hormonal changes, heredity, acne, & botched skin treatments. Don’t waste money on harmful & risky bleaching creams that can potentially make the problem worse! You can reduce the appearance of darkspots just by using lemon juice, honey, apple cider vinegar and water to create an all natural face mask &  skin lightening toner.

New Year, New Ventures

While other have been dreading the impending arrival of the year 2012, I welcome it with open arms. This year will be my year. I plan to further establish my brand & extend it by exploring many new ventures & ideas. I’m serious this year. And I know everyone says that they are serious about their so-called New Years resolutions but by the month of January is over, they too are over sticking to their resolutions. I’m not judging though. That is usually me. But not this year. I finally realize that God has blessed me with many gifts & talents that I need to utilize to its fullest potential. No more bullshitting, you know.
